Sporty is a remote-first company optimizing for sustainability and global reach. We are seeking a Database Reliability Engineer to own and evolve our database stack across regions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Qualifications

4+ years designing, implementing, and supporting advanced MySQL and MongoDB deployments.
Experience running large-scale DBs in production with focus on reliability and performance.
Strong automation mindset with Go/Python tooling to reduce manual work.
Solid understanding of SRE concepts, SLIs, SLOs, and data security best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain highly available database architectures across multiple regions.
Improve and tune existing DB infrastructure, including backups, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
Develop automation tools in Go/Python to streamline DB operations and reduce errors.
Monitor DB health, set up alerting based on SLO burn rates, and lead production deployments.
