Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin.
• 5+ years of hands-on database expertise with Relational/Distributed SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, TiDB/Vitess).
• Strong communication skills across engineering and cross-functional partners.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a multi-quarter horizon.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure and SRE to deliver scalable datastore components.
• Design and build multi-region, horizontally scalable datastore platforms.
• Develop control planes for management, migrations, DR, sharding and performance tuning.
• Lead cross-team collaboration across product development lifecycle.
• Maintain operability with monitoring, runbooks, on-call readiness and incident response.
