Job summary

MEC General Contractors is seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to oversee all aspects of our construction programs. The role starts remote, with a path to in-office work, and focuses on permits, procurement, scheduling, and close collaboration with vendors and subs to deliver quality projects on time.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in commercial project management, excellent communication, and solid budgeting skills, with proficiency in Procore and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of commercial project management experience.
• Ability to be self-direct and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strength/Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, Procore and Microsoft Project (Preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Occasional business travel required to visit job sites.
• Understanding of project management principles & budget management.
• Create and manage project budgets for all assigned projects.
• Developing pre-construction RFP packages.
• Conducting project meetings and setting milestones and formulating owners’ reports.
• Establishing job processes (RFI's, Submittals etc.).
• Performing project scheduling; ensuring project quality control and establishing overall project logistics.
• Leads the project team in establishing expectations, providing information to subs, and maintaining quality and cost effectiveness in the overview of all the projects.
• Comprehension of construction drawings
• Leads with managing the project closeout process
• Prepares weekly project updates

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects.
• Manage permits, procurement, vendor and sub-contractor oversight.
• Develop construction schedules and quality control steps.
• Ensure end finishes meet specifications.
• Lead project meetings and set milestones; provide owners’ reports.
• Prepare and distribute weekly project updates.
