Job summary

Summit Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead office and field teams from pre-construction through closeout. The role focuses on safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and high-quality results on commercial projects.

This in-office position requires regular site visits and collaboration with owners, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and full compliance with contracts and standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project to create and manage detailed schedules.
  • Experience processing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, contracts, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Process and manage submittals, ensuring timely review and distribution.
  • Prepare, track, and coordinate RFIs.
  • Review, prepare, negotiate, and process change orders.
  • Develop and update project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, and forecasts.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an in-office position and requires regular attendance at the office and project sites. Remote or work-from-home arrangements are not available for this role.

Compensation
  • Salary: $70,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Performance-Based Yearly Bonus
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Process and manage project submittals, ensuring timely review and distribution.
  • Prepare, track, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Review, prepare, negotiate, and process change orders.
  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and company standards.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Manage procurement and material delivery schedules.
  • Identify and resolve project issues to minimize delays and cost impacts.
  • Oversee project closeout documentation and completion requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial construction project management experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project with the ability to create and manage detailed construction schedules.
  • Experience processing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, contracts, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • Experience managing multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction management software platforms.
  • OSHA certification or related safety training.
