Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager for a contract opportunity. This hands-on role leads the month-end close and financial reporting processes while supporting SEC reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, inventory, commissions, and fixed assets.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q), U.S. GAAP, and SOX controls, with CPA strongly preferred and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong financial reporting and month-end close experience.
• Experience preparing or supporting 10-K and 10-Q SEC filings.
• Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, U.S. GAAP, and SOX internal controls.
• Strong technical accounting skills, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Experience with inventory accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and support SEC filings, including Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.
• Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP.
• Research and address complex technical accounting matters and document conclusions.
• Maintain and support SOX internal controls, including documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Manage accounting and reporting related to ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Support lease accounting under ASC 842 and related reporting.
• Support inventory accounting, reconciliations, valuation, and reporting.
• Calculate and administer sales commissions and disbursements.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and management reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors for audit and SOX requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve close, reporting, and accounting processes.
