Job summary

Scale Media is seeking a mid-level Data Analyst who acts as a Data Detective for our e-commerce P&L. You will own the truth behind revenue figures and partner with Finance to forecast and report across brands and channels.

You will work with Stripe, Shopify Payments, and QuickBooks data, build dashboards in Sigma, and transform raw data with KNIME or dbt. Fully remote US-based, salary $80k–$100k.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of data analysis experience, ideally supporting finance.
• Forecasting: hands-on experience building financial forecasts in SQL, spreadsheets, or a BI tool.
• Financial acumen: revenue recognition, COGS, gross vs. net sales, and contribution margin.
• DTC Ecommerce experience; comfortable with Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Stripe data.
• Snowflake (SQL) and Sigma proficiency; familiarity with Tableau/Looker/Power BI a plus.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• KNIME or dbt preferred; Alteryx or Python acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting: build and maintain forecasts for revenue, orders, renewals, and expenses by brand/channel.
• Forecast vs. Actual: track forecasts vs actuals, explain gaps, and flag misses to Finance.
• Budget Support: update scenarios and assumptions used for budget planning.
• P&L Reporting: build and maintain reporting on revenue, gross vs. net sales, discounts, refunds, COGS, and contribution margin by brand/channel/product.
• Unit Economics: report on contribution margin, payback, and profitability by brand/channel/product.
• Month-End Close: support month-end close with timely, tied-out data.
• Budget vs. Actual: produce variance reporting explaining movements.
