Job summary

52TEN, a private investment firm, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting function and build scalable processes. This role reports to executive leadership and focuses on GAAP-compliant closings, multi-entity reporting, and investor distributions in a fast-growing environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of accounting leadership, real estate or property management experience, advanced Excel skills, and a track record of building strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Real estate or property management accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP multi-entity accounting.
• Experience leading accounting teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP.

Position Title: Financial Controller Compensation: $120,000-$145,000 base salary + performance-based bonus Location: Remote

About the Role

As we continue to grow our national portfolio, we're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead our accounting function and build the financial foundation that supports our next stage of growth. This is more than a traditional Controller role. You'll oversee financial reporting, month-end close, investor distributions, and the accounting team while partnering closely with executive leadership to improve systems, strengthen internal controls, and scale our finance operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Real estate or property management accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP muti-entity accounting
• Experience leading accounting teams
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Experience with property management accounting systems such as Rent Manager
• Experience in process improvement and accounting system optimization
• Familiarity with real estate investment structures

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $120,000-$145,000 depending on experience
