Civilization Research Institute (CRI) is seeking a Financial Controller to lead budgeting, spending oversight, and nonprofit tax compliance. You will partner with the Executive Director and department heads to build interoperable budgets and monitor funding across programs.

This is a full-time, remote role with quarterly visits to our Asheville, NC headquarters. You will report to the COO and collaborate with the Director of Compliance and fundraising leadership.

Qualifications

• CPA with primary experience in non-profit taxes.
• Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• 8+ years in financial management overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets and programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Conduct internal audits of expenses and propose cost-saving options.
• Track project spending and attribute costs across multiple initiatives.
• Assist leadership with ROI analyses for new programs and expansion efforts.
• Create org-wide, department, and project budgets with fundraising considerations.
• Monitor restricted donations and donor reporting for compliance and transparency.
• Generate weekly runway and burn-rate reports and present to the CEO.
