Job summary

FundThrough is seeking a hands-on Chief Controller to own controls across finance operations in a high-growth fintech environment. You will lead a four-person team, design and monitor internal controls, and ensure accurate monthly closes and regulatory filings.

Based in the US or Canada, this remote role offers stock options and health benefits as part of competitive compensation; you will partner with founders and senior management to scale the business responsibly.

Qualifications

• US CPA with 8+ years as Controller, incl. 4+ years in finance at a factoring/lunding org.
• Experience leading a small accounting team and mentoring staff.
• Hands-on with internal controls design and monitoring.
• ERP experience with Dynamics GP; familiarity with cross-border consolidation.
• Experience filings across US states and Canadian provinces is a plus.
• Interest in high-growth start-up/tech environment.
• Comfort with data analysis and big-picture business perspective.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement internal controls across finance operations.
• Lead and develop a finance team of four (Team Lead, 2 Accounting Associates, AP).
• Own daily cash release controls ensuring accuracy and documentation.
• Oversee monthly closings and prepare management and board reports.
• Manage regulatory filings across US states and Canadian provinces.
• Handle multi-currency cash movements and liquidity planning.
• Oversee full accounting cycle, policies, and systems improvements.
• Oversee payroll and ESOP/cap table records (Carta).
