Job summary

Calbright College is seeking a remote Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions. You will lead the finance team, ensure GAAP compliance, and coordinate audits with external auditors.

Under the CFO, you will manage general ledger, month-end and year-end closes, and internal controls. This is a full-time remote role supporting California-based operations and reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, FASB and other accounting standards.
• Experience with payroll accounting, processing and compliance.
• Ability to lead month-end and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate day-to-day accounts payable/receivable, payroll and procurement support.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to Finance staff.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Manage cash position and banking operations.
