Job summary

Celanese Engineered Materials is seeking a Field Technical Service engineer with strong polymer processing experience. The candidate will solve customer processing issues, design experiments, document results, and support new product development.

Travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites is required. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of polymer processing and hands-on injection molding experience, with knowledge of polymers, CAE tools, and processing simulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of polymer processing experience required; BS in related discipline preferred.
• Hands-on experience operating injection molding equipment; other processing methods a plus.
• Expertise in polymer materials and plastics processing; OEM or tier support experience a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE or process simulation tools a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% to customer or Celanese sites.

Responsibilities

• Solve customer polymer processing issues using fundamental polymer knowledge and processing skills.
• Independently design experiments to study effects of processing variables on materials.
• Document key results and parameters in our repository.
• Connect analytical testing results to polymer processing, chemistry, and observations.
• Support new product development with product teams.
• Collaborate with the commercial team and update on status and concerns.
• Develop processing recommendations for customers and existing products.
• Build strong customer relationships to position Celanese as partner of choice.
