Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a field service professional in Houston to provide hands-on support for power transformers, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades, both on-site and remotely.

The role involves reading electrical/mechanical drawings, working with service teams, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Travel up to 85% may be required, with outdoor and physically demanding work, offering opportunities to advance within a leading energy technology

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States with Hitachi Energy.
• Educational requirements: Associate degree with 2+ years experience or HS diploma with 5+ years experience.
• Knowledge of transformer field service operations and testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation, assembly, vacuum/oil processing, and internal components.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on field service support for power transformers on-site and remotely.
• Install, commission, maintain, repair, upgrade, and service transformers.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings and follow manuals.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs and tools.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety guidelines.
• Contribute ideas for product and process improvements.
