Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a hands-on field service professional to support power transformers in challenging field conditions. You will install, commission, maintain, repair, and upgrade transformers to extend life and improve performance on a nationwide basis.

You will read electrical drawings, follow manuals, and perform internal transformer work. The role requires travel, outdoor work, and lifting up to 50 lbs in variable environments.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• Associate degree with 2 years of professional experience or high school diploma with 5+ years of experience.
• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and internal components.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Able to work outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site and remote service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Complete transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping.
• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as directed.
• Operate vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment and maintain logs.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs and parts.
