Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is seeking a Field Service Technician to service coffee equipment across Greater South Chicago, IL and NW Indiana.

This remote role requires daily travel to various site locations, performing installations, maintenance, and emergency service while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. You will learn coffee machinery through training, manage inventories, and document work orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Reside within South Chicago, IL area.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and frequent driving.
• On-call duties required, once a month.

Responsibilities

• Lead the equipment service business for corporations in Greater South Chicago & NW Indiana.
• Learn coffee machinery from our training teams to master service.
• Deliver best-in-class customer service to maximize satisfaction and retention.
• Perform scheduled service, proactive maintenance, installations, and emergency service requests.
• Manage equipment inventories with quarterly warehouse checks and parts orders.
• Document procedures, invoices, customer details, and quality issues.
• Operate and maintain a company vehicle equipped for the role.
