Job summary

ABB is seeking a remote-based Service Engineer to execute installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment. The role involves up to 75% travel across the US, coordination with customers, and adherence to ABB safety standards.

You will perform startups, commissioning, and testing of power delivery systems, including transformers, switchgear, relays, and related controls, while preparing reports and material orders for ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
• 2 years of field engineering experience or equivalent such as military service.
• Willingness to travel ~75% and possess a valid passport and driver's license.
• Ability to operate in a US-based ABB environment with work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment.
• Coordinate with customers to schedule jobs, order materials, and complete safety paperwork.
• Lead startups, commissioning, and testing of power delivery equipment and related controls.
• Prepare technical reports, quotations, and job status documentation for customers.
