Job summary

ABB, a global leader in electrical distributions, seeks a field engineer to provide hands-on installation, startup, troubleshooting and repair of Power Delivery equipment. The role includes leading outages with teams and preparing technical reports for customers, with strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The position is remote, with travel up to 75% to client sites across the US. The successful candidate will perform field commissioning, startup, and testing of medium voltage equipment,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8 years of related engineering / field experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Experience in repair/refurbishment of LV/MV circuit breakers preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with field engineers, technicians and contractors including project management and site reporting.
• Plan, prepare and/or instruct internal and external training programs in field engineering and product knowledge.
• Administrative tasks: write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations and prepare job status reports.
