Job summary

John Zink Company, a Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) company, seeks a Field Service Technician to support refining and petrochemical customers across Southern California. You will commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial combustion, electrical, and control systems at customer sites from your home base.

You will travel 75%+ regionally, with occasional national travel, and work from a remote home office within Southern California.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems (Allen Bradley/GE).
Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Willingness to travel 75%+ within the assigned region and obtain TWIC within 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

Travel from home base to customer sites for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment.
Support electrical, mechanical, and control systems including PLCs, VFDs, motors, pumps, valves, actuators, and transmission devices.
Commission, troubleshoot, and modify industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs)
Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues in live industrial environments.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support urgent customer needs.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including redlines on drawings and schematics.
Work safely in confined spaces and follow all safety procedures.
Build strong customer relationships through clear, professional communication.
