Job summary

John Zink Company, a Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) company, is hiring a Field Service Technician to support refining and petrochemical customers in the Southern California region. You will be the technical expert in the field, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial combustion, electrical, and control systems to keep operations safe and reliable.

You will travel extensively to customer sites from your home base, building strong relationships and providing proactive support

Qualifications

Hands-on experience modifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting PLC-based control systems.
Working knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and fabrication drawings.
Willingness to travel 75% or more within the assigned region.
Ability to obtain TWIC within six weeks of employment.
Valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

Travel from home base to customer sites to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning.
Service electrical, mechanical and control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motors, pumps, valves and sensors.
Commission, troubleshoot and modify industrial control systems including PLC logic and HMIs.
Diagnose electrical, controls and instrumentation issues in live environments using safe work practices.
Participate in on-call rotation to support urgent customer needs.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and redlines on drawings/schematics.
Work in confined spaces following safety procedures.
Build strong customer relationships through clear, proactive communication.
