Job summary

Kurt J. Lesker Company is seeking an Installation and Service Engineer to join the Process Equipment Division. You will install and service PVD tools across Europe, troubleshoot complex systems, and support customers with technical expertise.

The role involves travel across the UK and Europe, delivering training and ensuring optimal system performance. A science background, English fluency, and strong problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• BSc in a scientific discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, materials science).
• Fluent in English (B2/C1+).
• 5+ years experience in field service, installation, or similar technical role.
• Thorough understanding of vacuum technology and thin film deposition processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to travel nationwide and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide system installation and support for KJLC/KDF PVD tools.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and coatings systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, upgrades, and field modifications.
• Interact with customers via phone, email, and video conferencing.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe for installation and service activities.
• Deliver customer training on system operation, software, and hardware.
