Job summary

Kurt J Lesker Company Ltd is seeking an Installation and Service Engineer to join our Process Equipment Division. You will lead installations and provide on-site and remote support for vacuum tools across Europe, handling troubleshooting of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and delivering customer training.

The role requires a degree in a scientific discipline, 5+ years in field service, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• BSc in a scientific discipline (physics, chemistry, materials science, etc.).
• 5+ years in field service, installation, or similar technical role.
• Strong vacuum technology knowledge and thin film deposition.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to travel UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation and support for KJLC/KDF PVD tools.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electro-mechanical assemblies or coating systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and field modifications.
• Interact with customers via phone, email and video conferencing.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe for installation, service and support.
• Deliver customer training on system operation, software and hardware.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
• Perform helium leak detection and basic analysis using an RGA.
• Build strong relationships with customers as a trusted technical advisor.
