Instron in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Texas from a home-based, independent role.

You'll perform preventive maintenance, calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical testing systems, traveling regularly to customer sites and delivering hands-on training while upholding safety and quality standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential as you build long-term relationships with customers.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in a technical field.
Military technical experience or trade school may substitute for a degree.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Comfortable with Windows-based computers and technical software.
Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites for preventive maintenance, calibration, and installation.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
Provide hands-on training and technical guidance to customers.
Document service reports and expenses accurately.
Maintain professionalism and customer satisfaction on visits.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Support customers across Texas with occasional travel outside the region.
