Job summary

Instron, a leader in materials testing systems, seeks a Field Service Engineer to support customers in Texas from a home-based role. You will calibrate, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electro-mechanical systems, traveling within Houston and across Texas.

You will train customers and document service activities while upholding safety standards. Ideal candidates bring engineering technology or related degrees, strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Military technical experience or trade school may be considered in place of a degree.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Comfortable working with Windows-based computers and technical software.
Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer facilities to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
Provide customers with technical guidance and hands-on training.
Complete service documentation, field reports, and expense reports.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction during every service visit.
Follow all company and customer safety procedures.
Support customers throughout Texas, with occasional travel to other regions as business needs require.
