Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer II for the Diagnostics Division. The remote role covers the St. Petersburg, FL territory, with travel up to 50%. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot diagnostic instruments while ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.

You’ll work across teams to meet business goals, mentor peers, and drive instrument uptime. Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2–5 years in engineering or lab tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in Engineering or Laboratory Technology.
• Travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving with laboratory instrumentation.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and remote tools (VPN).

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain diagnostic systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot complex instruments and document resolutions.
• Own customer satisfaction and manage issues to resolution.
• Plan service visits and manage territory inventory.
• Follow regulatory and safety guidelines during service activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor others.
• Meet service sales and KPI targets for assigned accounts.
• Utilize remote tools to maximize instrument uptime and training.
