Job summary

The Manitowoc Company, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Potain Tower Crane products remotely with on-site visits. This role requires extensive travel (up to 75%) and entails troubleshooting, installation assistance, and providing training to distributors and customers on erection and maintenance of new models.

The position reports to the Technical Service Manager and emphasizes safety, reliability, and coordination with engineering and service teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering with 5+ years in manufacturing or heavy equipment distribution.
• Alternate: a HS diploma with 10+ years in similar roles.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge of cranes preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Provide aftermarket service support on-site and over the phone for Potain Tower Cranes.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment; train distributors and customers on erection and maintenance.
• Coordinate with managers on parts, service, and warranty communications.
• Analyze technical problem reports to identify trends and improvements.
• Coordinate service bulletins and product improvement programs.
• Interact with personnel on service materials, requirements, and safety compliance.
• Plan activities to resolve customer reports and prevent recurring issues.
