Job summary

The Manitowoc Company in Manitowoc, WI is seeking a Mobile Crane Technical Service Advisor to lead safe assembly and commissioning of cranes at customer sites. You will train distributor teams on new-model setup, and troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues with strong field diagnostics.

Daily activities include collaborating with service teams, analyzing field data for improvements, and maintaining rigorous safety standards while documenting all work and expenditures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 2+ years of mechanical or electrical experience; or technical degree plus 1+ year in a similar field.
• Hands-on technical service background; computer literate; proficient at reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Willing to travel up to 75% (domestic and international); able to climb ladders and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Enable safe crane assembly and commissioning at customer jobsites.
• Coach distributor teams on new-model setup, maintenance, and continuous technical training.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues when problems exceed local resources.
• Coordinate investigations into customer-reported issues and apply processes that reduce future service events.
• Collaborate with Manitowoc Crane Group personnel on service literature, parts availability, product requirements, and code compliance.
• Analyze field data to identify trends that influence design, production, service, and maintenance; recommend corrective actions.
• Document your work meticulously with service reports, timecards, and expense submissions.
• Serve as a trusted ambassador of our brand with a professional, integrity-first approach.
