Job summary

Arcadia Publishing (Charleston, SC) seeks a publishing sales professional to expand sales with independent bookstores and specialty retailers across multiple imprints. Grow frontlist and backlist, reactivate dormant accounts, and acquire new ones.

You will conduct in-person and virtual calls, manage accounts in Salesforce, and collaborate with publicity, marketing, editorial, and sales operations to optimize support and growth. Remote work with travel for events is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in book publishing sales or retail bookselling.
• Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships and exceed sales goals.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple accounts.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), Salesforce, Edelweiss and AI.
• Seasonal travel for account visits and trade shows.
• Remote position requiring a dedicated workspace and reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Grow frontlist and backlist sales across Arcadia’s imprints.
• Expand business with existing accounts and acquire new ones.
• Conduct in-person and virtual sales calls and recommend product selections.
• Use Salesforce to manage accounts and enter orders.
• Maximize backlist sales through inventory reviews and targeted strategies.
• Utilize Edelweiss to create Collections and Markups for sales support.
• Represent Arcadia at trade shows and industry events.
• Collaborate with publicity, marketing, editorial, and sales teams to optimize account support.
• Serve as internal communicator to share customer insights across divisions.
