Job summary

Sysco Irvine seeks a sales professional to execute a defined territory plan within the Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG). You will build strong customer relationships, present products, and secure orders to maximize sales and gross profit.

You will travel for in-person visits, collaborate with inside sales, and monitor stock levels, pricing accuracy, and market trends to drive growth. Strong culinary knowledge and consultative selling are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Preferred: 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related studies.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG).
• Make in-person visits and presentations to customers.
• Take customer orders with SSMG goals in mind: sales and GP/Stop maximization.
• Coordinate with inside sales partners to input orders.
• Respond promptly to customer problems and needs.
• Review daily stock, shortages, and transportation issues and implement solutions.
• Analyze daily/weekly sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
• Stay informed about product applications, market conditions, competitive activity, and competitors in the market.
• Participate in SSMG training and customer events; attend sales meetings.
• Develop relationships with accounts payable at each account.
• Coordinate communication between AP and SSMG AR/collections.
• Implement early and proactive credit controls to manage DSOs.
• Update bid files and customer profiles to ensure pricing accuracy.
