Job summary

CorVel Corporation is hiring a dedicated registered nurse for a Field (Medical) Case Manager role in Knoxville, TN. This position combines in-person and telephonic case management with meaningful work to facilitate injured workers’ recovery.

The role involves travel within the defined jurisdiction, collaborating with patients, families, physicians, and other providers. Strong nursing background and case management certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Current RN Licensure in state of operation
• Certification as CCM/CIRS or other Case Management certifications preferred
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provides in-person and telephonic Medical Case Management to individuals and collaborates with physicians, providers, employers, and referral sources
• Discusses current treatment plans with physicians and discusses alternative plans
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient progress
• Evaluates treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness
• Attends doctors, providers, home visits, hospital or long-term facility discharge planning conferences
• Conducts home visits for initial evaluation and arranges durable medical equipment and nursing services
• Regular travel up to ~60% of the work week/month; overnight travel may be required
• Other duties as required
