Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a registered nurse to join as Field (Medical) Case Manager in the Tampa, FL area. This role combines home-based work with on-the-road assignments to support injured workers through their recovery.

You will collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and employers while managing high-volume caseloads. Regular travel is required, with local travel up to 60% and occasional overnight stays, in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of operation.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• CCM or other case-management certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and telephonic Medical Case Management to individuals, involving the patient, physician, other health care providers, the employer, and the referral source
• Utilize their medical and nursing knowledge to discuss the current treatment plan with the physician and discuss alternate treatment plans
• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient’s progress
• Evaluate patient’s treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness
• Attend doctors, other providers, home and in some cases, attorney’s visits
• Attend hospital and/or long-term facility discharge planning conferences, etc. for determining appropriateness of care and developing an effective long-term care strategy
