Job summary

Farmers Insurance is seeking a Field Property Claims Adjuster for the Gillette or Sheridan, WY area. This remote field role requires travel to policyholder homes. Starting wage is $26.01 per hour with overtime opportunities based on business needs and volume.

Candidates must reside within the Wyoming territory or adjacent communities and have a high school diploma. Construction or insurance experience is preferred, with strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment.
• Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred.
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Proficiency with smartphones and applications.
• Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage to identify coverage.
• Outgoing personality for engaging with diverse people.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations by visiting policyholders’ residences to assess property damage, liability, loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements.
• Use claims software, company vehicle, and laptop to write estimates in a paperless environment.
• Evaluate and report on subrogation opportunities.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, and investigators.
• Negotiate settlements using strong customer service skills.
• Promote safety and comply with company manuals.
