Job summary

Computacenter is seeking a Field Engineering Subject Matter Expert focused on Low Voltage and Infrastructure Cabling to shape how complex physical infrastructure work is scoped, delivered, tested, and accepted across our North America Field Engineering organization.

This senior individual contributor role combines hands-on field experience with creating standards, work packages, training, and scalable delivery capabilities.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in low voltage, structured cabling, or telecom infrastructure delivery.
• Experience leading large field deployments across copper/fiber.
• Ability to review site surveys and assess buildability against constraints.
• Experience interpreting drawings, BOMs, floor plans, and installation standards.
• StrongSkills in technical standards, work packages, and training development.
• Experience supporting customer discussions, estimating, and SOWs.
• Experience leading escalations, root cause analysis, and quality recovery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the practice level technical authority for Low Voltage/Infrastructure Cabling delivery across Field Engineering.
• Support complex customer pursuits by reviewing scope, field conditions, and delivery risk.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions, and Costing to ensure feasible and well-scoped work.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, work packages, and acceptance criteria.
• Define site survey and buildability requirements for pathways, racks, cabinets, and grounding.
• Support Engineers and delivery teams during deployments, escalations, and quality issues.
• Define training and qualification expectations for Field Engineering teams and partners.
• Assess partner capability and readiness for defined work types.
