Job summary

TDLR is seeking an Enforcement Investigator III-Field for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This home-based role involves leading complex investigations, interviewing complainants, witnesses and respondents, gathering evidence, and preparing detailed written reports for prosecutors.

You will conduct internet research, coordinate on-site investigations, and may testify at administrative hearings. A high school diploma and 3 years of investigative experience are required; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED required; a four-year college degree is preferred.
• Three years of investigations/enforcement/administration experience required.
• Experience writing investigative reports and testifying in court or before an administrative judge is required.
• Experience with research or analysis using information databases is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and drive own vehicle is required.
• Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Home-based or remote work employees must provide own internet service.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Mandarin are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes assigned cases to develop an investigative plan and conducts complex investigations of suspected violations of agency statutes and rules.
• Conducts criminal background and personal history investigations, interviews witnesses and respondents, including trafficking survivors.
• Collects and maintains pertinent evidence and reviews with witnesses to confirm authenticity and relevance.
• Performs internet research to secure background information on individuals, entities, and events.
• Travels to conduct on-site investigations and coordinate with partners; conducts surveillance as needed.
• Assists in preparing reports for prosecutors and testifies at administrative hearings.
