Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.

• Two years peace officer experience OR Intermediate Peace Officer Certificate (TCLEOSE).
• Certified Peace Officer with firearm proficiency required.
• Must pass criminal background investigation and related assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering data for moderate to complex cases and assist in plea negotiations.
• Locate and develop evidence to support cases and trial strategies.
• Plan and organize work independently for trials or dispositions.
• Reconstruct events, sequences, and time elements for criminal cases.
• Locate, interview, and notify witnesses; coordinate subpoenas and witness transport.
• Collect and prepare physical evidence; review autopsy and forensic reports.
