Job summary

Vault is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the OH and MI territory. This field-based role requires extensive travel to meet with agents, develop partnerships, and expand market share in high-net-worth personal lines insurance.

You will work cross-functionally with underwriting, marketing, product management, and risk management to deliver solutions, onboard agencies, and maintain client relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in business development, sales, or agency management in P&C insurance, preferably high-net-worth.
• Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products.
• Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with independent agents and brokers.
• Self-starter with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based role with frequent travel.
• Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory business plan to drive top-line growth, profitability, and agency appointments.
• Travel extensively throughout OH and MI to meet with prospective and current agents, delivering training and support.
• Identify high-potential agencies aligned with Vault’s market and onboard them via a consultative sales approach.
• Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and service teams to ensure a seamless agent and client experience.
• Monitor market trends and agency performance to inform strategic decisions.
• Represent Vault at industry events and networking opportunities.
