Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Staff Scientist, Field Applications, to enable customers in biologics purification and processing. You will solve complex downstream challenges, train customers, and support adoption from lab to manufacturing scales.

In this remote field role, you will collaborate with sales and R&D to optimize chromatography workflows, deliver technical training, and build strong customer relationships across the San Francisco and Northern California territory.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree + 6 years in chromatography/bioprocessing or Bachelor + 8 years in chromatography/bioprocessing.
• Experience in customer-facing technical support and training.
• Strong communication and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training and customer demonstrations.
• Optimize applications and troubleshoot complex issues across platforms.
• Lead presentations and scientific discussions with customers and internal teams.
• Gather feedback to support R&D and product development.
