Qualifications

• New Jersey adjuster licensing must be obtained and maintained.
• Minimum 5 years of property claims experience, including field adjusting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to independently investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property claims.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Customer-first mindset and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work independently while managing a remote, field-based schedule.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the Central New Jersey territory.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and health screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections with accurate scoping and photography.
• Investigate and evaluate first-party property claims for coverage and damages.
• Review policies and contracts to assess validity and coverage.
• Communicate professionally with policyholders and professionals.
• Use claims estimating tools to prepare and validate estimates.
• Collaborate with Subrogation and Fire/Fraud Investigations when needed.
• Maintain complete claim documentation and notes.
• Establish and update claim reserves as information changes.
• Prepare clear claim correspondence and legal letters.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and escalate when needed.
• Represent Heritage in legal proceedings when required.
• Stay informed about local construction costs and repair methods.
• Travel throughout assigned territory for inspections.
