Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Fiber Analyst to support remote fiber network testing across ISP and OSP environments. The role emphasizes OTDR analysis, bidirectional testing, and documenting findings to ensure network performance and reliability.

You will perform fusion splicing, fiber repairs, and remediation, coordinate with vendors and project teams, and produce test reports and maps. Strong communication and proficiency with Word/Excel are required, with travel as needed for field work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Fiber Optics or Telecommunications.
• Experience with ISP and OSP fiber networks.
• Strong OTDR testing and troubleshooting background.
• Experience with CD/PMD, bidirectional, and power meter/laser testing.
• Knowledge of fusion splicing, fiber repair and remediation.
• Fiber end-face inspection and cleaning proficiency.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel for field work.

Responsibilities

• Perform OTDR testing to validate fiber paths and identify faults, splices, bends, and signal loss.
• Conduct fiber characterization, bidirectional testing, and power/loss analysis.
• Troubleshoot fiber network issues and recommend remediation solutions.
• Perform fusion splicing and fiber repairs as needed.
• Prepare test reports, redlined fiber documentation, and demarcation maps.
• Coordinate with vendors, project managers, and internal teams to support project execution.
