Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Analyst to join the team on a remote basis. The role focuses on assisting technicians and engineers remotely with fiber testing and diagnostics using OTDR and related equipment.

You will map fiber routes, identify faults, and provide remediation recommendations while coordinating with vendors and project managers to deliver high-quality results. This position requires strong remote collaboration capabilities and precise reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with OTDR and fiber characterization.
• Ability to read OTDR traces to map routes and identify faults.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for remote field support.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians and engineers remotely for fiber testing and troubleshooting.
• Read OTDR traces to map fiber routes and identify splices, connectors, bends, and faults.
• Perform CD/PMD tests and power meter/laser tests to assess fiber integrity remotely.
• Perform fusion splicing on problematic fiber segments to minimize signal loss.
• Oversee fiber end-face inspection and cleaning as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports, redlined fiber path documentation, and demarcation maps.
