Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Fiber Optic Splicer 2 to splice and test fiber optic cables underground in both indoor and outdoor settings. The role is fully remote, with location details discussed during the interview process.

You will read schematics, maintain splicing and field notes, support project timelines, and train entry-level technicians while ensuring safety protocols and proper PPE usage. Travel is required for projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Experience in fusion splicing and terminating fiber assemblies.
• Ability to splice outside plant direct buried and armored cables.
• Experience with indoor/outdoor tight buffered fiber splices.
• Proficient use of OTDR testing equipment (OTDRs).
• Willingness to travel full-time for projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform splicing and testing of fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Diagnose and resolve fiber issues to maintain network integrity.
• Analyze test results and maintain accurate splicing records.
• Train and support entry-level technicians to meet quality standards.
• Maintain tools, inventory, and safety protocols including PPE.
