Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Fiber Optic Splicer 2 to splice/test fiber optic cables in both underground and above-ground settings. This fully remote role involves reading schematics, maintaining splicing records, and supporting project timelines.

Candidates must have 2+ years in fusion splicing and a Splicing Certificate; travel is required. Work with a team to ensure safety, quality, and compliance, while staying current with fiber optic techniques.

Qualifications

• Experience in fusion splicing and mechanical connector termination.
• Able to splice outside plant direct buried fiber.
• Proficient with OTDR testing and fiber evaluation tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform splicing and testing of fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Diagnose and resolve fiber optic issues to maintain network integrity.
• Analyze test results to identify and rectify discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate splicing operation records and network configurations.
• Train and support entry-level technicians to ensure quality standards.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on fiber networks and inspect connectors.
