Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Fiber Optic Splicer 2 to splice and test fiber optic cables underground in both outside (OSP) and inside (ISP) settings. The candidate will read, create, and maintain splicing schematics and field notes, and support project timelines.

This role is fully remote; travel is required and expected for project coverage. Minimum requirements include 2+ years in fiber optic fusion splicing, OTDR testing experience, and ability to splice various fiber types.

Qualifications

• Experience with fusion splicing and mechanical connector terminating.
• Ability to splice outside plant direct buried fiber and armored/non-armored fiber.
• Experience with multi-count splicing and indoor/outdoor termination.
• OTDR testing experience; Fluke Versiv and EXFO are plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform splicing and testing of fiber optic cables in indoor and outdoor settings.
• Diagnose and resolve fiber issues to maintain network integrity.
• Analyze test results and maintain accurate splicing records.
• Train and support entry‑level technicians to meet quality standards.
• Maintain splicing tools and inventory; ensure PPE and safety compliance.
• Stay current with fiber optic advancements and obtain splicing certification if needed.
