The role analyzes position descriptions and organizational requirements to determine the correct occupational series, titles, and grades in line with OPM standards and agency policies. Responsibilities include reviews, desk audits, documentation, and collaboration with staffing, compensation, and HR teams to ensure accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Demonstrated experience in federal civilian position classification or related federal HR functions.
• Experience applying OPM standards and federal HR policies to classification actions.
• Experience reviewing federal civilian position descriptions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct position classification reviews across multiple occupational series and grade levels.
• Review position descriptions and organizational information to assign series, title, and grade.
• Analyze duties, supervisory relationships, structure, and qualifications.
• Develop and revise position descriptions to document duties accurately.
• Apply OPM standards and classification guidance to actions.
• Conduct desk audits to confirm classification validity.
• Research regulations and guidance to resolve questions and support recommendations.
• Prepare evaluation statements, recommendations, and documentation.
• Identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions to management.
• Provide classification guidance to supervisors, managers, HR staff.
