Job summary

SMX is seeking a Federal Financial Business Analyst to help advance our BAS solution built for the federal government on SAP Analytics Cloud. The role focuses on budgeting, planning, and data-driven decision support for federal stakeholders, with strong collaboration across design, development, and budget SMEs.

This is a 100% remote, full-time position with travel <20% and requires Public Trust clearance. You will document processes, analyze data, facilitate workshops, and deliver SDLC

Qualifications

• Federal financial management experience.
• Experience with federally aligned data and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial and operational data with government stakeholders.
• Document business processes, workflows, and requirements.
• Facilitate workshops to identify process improvements.
• Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency.
• Review policies and data structures for impacts on financial processes.
• Utilize BI tools to maximize value of client data assets.
• Guide clients in adopting solutions to improve performance.
• Collaborate across teams to align business, data, and tech needs.
• Create SDLC documentation and training materials.
• Develop test plans and business use cases.
