Job summary

Modern Family Law in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to work with attorneys on divorce, child custody, property division and support matters. You will manage your own caseload, draft filings, and communicate with clients to move cases forward.

Ideal candidates have family law experience, strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency with e-filing and multiple attorneys. Remote-first with in-person court and client meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Family law experience required and ability to draft cleanly, meet deadlines and communicate with clients under stress.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in e-filing with major county court systems.
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a law firm setting.
• Ability to capture all billable work accurately with clear narratives.
• High attention to detail and organized under multiple matters.
• Collaborative instinct and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of family law matters from hire through resolution, working with multiple attorneys.
• Draft and prepare filings: Petitions, Summons, Case Information Sheets, Notices and Entries of Appearance, and Motions to Withdraw; E-file and track status.
• Own deadlines: calendars and court requirements; ensure nothing goes late.
• Talk to clients and follow up; manage client expectations during stressful times.
• Keep matters clean and searchable; maintain current and accurate files.
• Work with attorneys as a colleague, communicating upcoming steps proactively.
