Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience is required.
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) is required or preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and update coding guidance and reference materials for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality.
