Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Facility Coding Quality professional to support enterprise-wide revenue cycle integrity. This remote role focuses on interpreting and applying coding guidelines for both professional and hospital coding, with a strong emphasis on audit coordination and data-driven quality improvement.

Qualifications

• 5 years of expert-level professional coding or hospital-based coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience with remote workforce operations.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements to support accurate and compliant Professional and Hospital coding practices.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance and reference materials for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings and corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and materials for leadership, audit reviews, and quality initiatives.
• Partner with Integrity Operations and clinicians to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Support regulatory and quality projects ensuring adherence to AHIMA standards.
• Respond to internal inquiries related to coding guidance and audit outcomes.
• Support testing, reporting validation, and workflow updates in coding quality initiatives.
