Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Export Control Analyst to support the institution's export control program. You will conduct reviews, assist with classifications, and provide regulatory analyses for research activities, teaching, and international collaborations.

Reporting to the Export Control Officer, you will engage with faculty and staff, ensure compliance with USML, EAR, ITAR, and OFAC, and contribute to training and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years export control experience.
• Ability to understand, follow, and document the Order of Review for jurisdiction and classification.
• Strong ability to interpret complex regulations, policies, and guidance.
• Proficient in compliance software or case-management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to explain regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple reviews and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn about cutting-edge technologies and item specifications.
• Provides outstanding customer service with urgency and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and coordinates export control reviews with the Export Control Officer.
• Performs classification: USML, ECCN, ITAR, EAR, OFAC determinations.
• Supports post-approval compliance, monitoring, and audits.
• Assists with training and outreach for faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
• Monitors regulatory developments and summarizes impacts internally.
• Assists with special projects and program initiatives.
