Job summary

NCFE is seeking Examiners to join its Assessment Delivery team on a flexible worker contract for marking Level 1/2 Technical Award in Business and Enterprise. This remote role supports the summer 2027 marking window, requiring subject knowledge, adherence to mark schemes, and high standards of confidentiality.

You'll work with business and enterprise subjects, attend remote standardisation meetings, and ensure fair, accurate results while meeting deadlines in a supportive NCFE environment.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 or higher qualification in business or closely related subject area.
• Current or recent teaching experience at Level 3 or above in a business and enterprise related subject, or significant recent occupational experience within the sector.
• An understanding of effective quality assurance and assessment processes.
• The ability to work consistently within tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Following and maintaining the standard set by the Chief Examiner, applying the mark scheme consistently and accurately.
• Reporting suspected malpractice or safeguarding concerns to the Assessment Delivery team.
• Attending examiner standardisation and other meetings as required – standardisation events will be run remotely and scheduled for weekdays between 9.00am-5.00pm prior to the start of the marking window.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of NCFE assessment materials, learner evidence and learner details, and reporting any breaches to the Assessment Delivery team.
