Job summary

NCFE is seeking Examiners to join the Assessment Delivery team on a flexible worker contract for the Level 1/2 Technical Award in Engineering. You will mark external assessments and submit results during the summer 2027 marking window to ensure learners receive fair, consistent and accurate outcomes.

The role suits Design Technology, Product Design, Resistant Materials or Engineering teachers, lecturers, trainers or assessors.

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 3+ qualification in engineering/design technology or related subject.
• Experience teaching Level 3+ engineering/design technology or recent occupational experience.
• Understanding of quality assurance and assessment processes.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mark external assessments and submit results during the marking window.
• Maintain standard and apply mark scheme consistently.
• Report malpractice or safeguarding concerns.
• Attend examiner standardisation meetings remotely.
• Maintain confidentiality of NCFE materials and learner details.
