Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an ETL Engineer with deep Java Spring Batch expertise for a remote, contract role focused on decommissioning Informatica workflows as part of a large-scale modernization. You will translate legacy ETL into scalable, maintainable data pipelines and collaborate in an Agile environment.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in Java/Spring Batch, strong ETL experience, and familiarity with AWS, CI/CD, and SQL.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with a focus on Java and Spring Batch.
• Extensive experience developing enterprise ETL or batch processing applications.
• Experience with CI/CD using Jenkins and Artifactory to support release processes.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, ECR).
• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience migrating legacy ETL solutions, Informatica preferred.
• Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, and reconciliation.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Preferred: Python-based ETL development.
• Preferred: GitHub Copilot or Generative AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Informatica workflows and ETL processes to understand business logic and data transformations.
• Design, develop, and enhance Java Spring Batch applications for enterprise-scale ETL processing.
• Translate legacy ETL workflows into modern batch processing solutions.
• Develop data transformation, validation, and reconciliation logic to ensure data accuracy.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and application teams to define migration requirements.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Troubleshoot batch processing issues and optimize performance for high-volume data workloads.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and production support.
• Create technical documentation detailing ETL workflows and mappings.
